Countersinks 90°
HSSE tapered countersinks 90° for countersunk screws by Nachreiner
The process of countersinking screw heads is very common when working with metal workpieces in both industry and craftsmanship. To countersink screws, rivets, or nuts flush into the workpiece, HSSE tapered countersinks are used. The HSSE tapered countersinks with a 90° counterboring angle are especially suitable for countersunk screws according to metric standards (e.g., DIN or many factory standards). In contrast, countersunk screws according to US standards cannot be countersunk in the core hole with a 90° HSSE tapered countersink. For this, the version with an 82° counterboring angle would be required. Additionally, you can use the HSSE 90° tapered countersink for deburring, although the 60° version is typically preferred for this purpose. If you do not wish to deburr conical core holes or countersink screws in cylindrical holes, a flat countersink or spade countersink should be used instead.
Other counterboring angles in addition to HSSE 90° tapered countersinks
As mentioned, there are other variants of HSSE tapered countersinks with various counterboring angles, each suitable for different applications. In addition to the 82° for US countersunk screws and 60° for cleanly deburring core holes, we also carry 75° for rivets and 120° for sheet metal rivets. Flat countersinks, or spade countersinks, have a 180° angle to create a perfectly flat, cylindrical countersink. In all cases, clean operation is ensured by the sophisticated geometry of the cutting edges. Nachreiner's HSSE 90° tapered countersinks feature three cutting edges that allow for smooth, precise, and clean work without chatter.

Overview of HSS and HSSE 90° tapered countersinks:
- HSSE tapered countersink 90°, form C
- Same, with TiN coating
- HSS tapered countersink 90°, extra-long
- HSS tapered countersink 90°, uneven spacing
- Same, in HSSE version
This is just a small selection from our extensive range. Please feel free to ask us if you cannot find something or identify it immediately in the catalog. By the way, Nachreiner’s service offerings also include a professional regrinding service that can refurbish and sharpen your worn or dull drilling tools, cutting tools, and other parts. While not all tools can be re-sharpened, in many cases, the lifespan of the products can be significantly extended through skillful regrinding, which saves your budget as well as the environment. Our exchange service ensures everything goes smoothly and quickly. We also offer regrinding services for tools from other manufacturers.
