HSS
HSS saw blade according to DIN 1837 (fine saw tooth)
At Nachreiner Tools, you will find circular saw blades for metalworking according to DIN 1837 and DIN 1838. Our range includes both the HSS saw blades suitable for your application as well as the solid carbide (VHM) versions, available in various diameters. When ordering, you need to particularly differentiate between the fine-tooth or coarse-tooth versions. Both are available in our shop for VHM and HSS saw blades.
HSS saw blade for metal cutting and other applications
Although our products are typically purchased for metalworking, you can also use an HSS saw blade for certain types of wood and plastics. In any case, an HSS saw blade from our range is characterized by high load capacity and correspondingly long service life. They are significantly harder than comparable products in other materials. For most applications in metalworking, an HSS saw blade is ideally suited and offers a good price-performance ratio. For special applications or specific machine manufacturer standards, solutions according to DIN 1837 A, 1838 B, and 1838 C are available upon request. If you do not find what you need directly in our catalog, please contact us. By specifying your specific area of use, we can usually provide the best solution for circular saw blades. Special coatings are also available upon request.
Special properties of the HSS saw blade
Depending on your intended use, you can choose between fine-tooth and coarse-tooth blades. High-speed steel (HSS) saw blades have long dominated industrial and professional metalworking. It wasn't until the advent of solid carbide (VHM) circular saw blades that a viable alternative to the widely used HSS saw blades became available. Both types are considered cold saws. While the use of HSS saw blades requires coolant to protect the surfaces from heat, VHM saws generally operate without coolant. Depending on the material properties and thickness of the metal being processed, you can order the correct circular saw blade for your saw from us. Please be aware of any specific requirements that may be specified by the machine manufacturer. For example, swing saws have different characteristics than saws with horizontal or vertical cutting orientations.
Maintenance and grinding of HSS saw blades
The cleaning and maintenance of your HSS saw blades are similar to those of other circular saws. It is important to remove all residues of the material being processed after work to prevent contact corrosion. Additionally, you can apply a maintenance oil to clean the saw blade. Of course, saw blades can be sharpened up to a certain level of wear. If you do not have the necessary tools and expertise for this, you can have your circular saw blades reconditioned by us. This reduces your tool inventory requirements and lowers costs compared to purchasing new saw blades.
