1.2 What personal data do we process and for what purposes?

We process the data that you have sent to us in connection with your application in order to assess your suitability for the position applied for (or, where applicable, other vacancies within our companies) and to carry out the application process.

1.3 What is the legal basis for processing?

The primary legal basis for the processing of your personal data as part of the application process is Section 26 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG), in the version applicable since 25 May 2018.

According to this provision, the processing of data is permitted where it is necessary in connection with the decision on the establishment of an employment relationship.

If the data is potentially required after completion of the application process for the purposes of legal claims, the processing of data may also be based on the requirements of Article 6 GDPR, in particular Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, concerning the protection of legitimate interests.

In such cases, our legitimate interest is the assertion or defence of legal claims.

1.4 How long is the data stored?

In the event that an application is rejected, applicant data will be deleted after six months.

If you have consented to the further storage of your personal data, we will transfer your data to our applicant pool. The data stored in the applicant pool will be deleted after two years.

If you are selected for a position as part of the application process, your data will be transferred from the applicant data system to our personnel information system.

1.5 To which recipients is the data disclosed?

Once your application has been received, your applicant data will be reviewed by our Human Resources Department.

Suitable applications will then be forwarded internally to the managers responsible for the respective vacant position. The further procedure will then be coordinated.

As a general rule, within the company only those persons have access to your data who require it for the proper processing of our application procedure.

1.6 Where is the data processed?

The data is processed exclusively in data centres located in the Federal Republic of Germany.

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data concerning you that we process.

If you submit a request for information that is not made in writing, we ask for your understanding that we may require appropriate proof of identity to verify that you are the person you claim to be.
