For particularly demanding applications that require high cutting speeds and precise side guidance, VHM universal drills with a 5xD drilling depth are especially well-suited. Unlike other materials, VHM metal drills have a body made entirely of solid carbide, where not just the tip is made of carbide and soldered onto another carrier material. This design results in significant advantages in terms of tool life and processing speed. The heat resistance of our 5xD universal drills is exemplary and can be further enhanced with variants featuring internal cooling (IK). The Nachreiner universal drills, manufactured according to company standards, are designed as spiral drills and, depending on the variant, come with a different number of guiding facets, which improve the side guidance during drilling. The VHM universal drills are available in different sizes and designs. The precise adherence to drilling depth is particularly easy with these spiral drills because the depth is calculated based on the length-to-diameter ratio (e.g., drilling depth 5 x diameter). For other drilling depths of the same diameter, simply choose the corresponding size (e.g., 3xD or 8xD, depending on the need). We offer the following common universal drill depths in our range:For very deep holes, the precision and durability of the spiral drills become particularly important, as longer drills tend to deviate more than shorter versions. Additionally, chip removal and, if applicable, coolant discharge are more complex. If you need to make particularly deep holes, you can, of course, consult us individually to determine which tool is the best solution for your project.
